Why made to measure
Off the peg fits an average man. You are not an average man.
Most people have one shoulder slightly lower than the other, a back that is straighter or rounder than the template, or arms that refuse to follow the size chart. Ready-to-wear solves that with compromises. Made to measure solves it with a pattern.
We take some twenty measurements, agree the cut together and build the garment around you. You choose from a very wide range of cloth, and then the lining, the lapel, the buttons, the pockets and every other detail that makes the garment yours.
The process
From measurements to finished garment
Measuring
About an hour in the shop. We take the measurements, talk through the occasion and go through cloth samples together.
Choosing details
Cloth, lining, lapel, buttons, pockets, waistcoat. We will guide you if you would rather someone else decided.
Intermediate fitting
The garment is tried on half-finished, so we can correct it before it is sewn together.
Final delivery
The last adjustments are made on the spot. You collect the garment in the shop once it sits perfectly.
